Next Frontier Founders Companies Graduate at 4YFN

Feb 27, 2026

The UPC entrepreneurial ecosystem is once again standing out at 4YFN, which will take place from March 2 to 5 at the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona. Eleven emerging companies that have participated in the Next Frontier Founders (NFF) program will be present, either through the University’s stand or in the pitching session that will serve as the program’s closing event. This session, like the NFF program itself, is sponsored by Fractus within the framework of the Fractus-UPC Deep Tech Hub.

Once again, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech (UPC) will participate in  Four Years From Now (4YFN) with the UPC Startup Corner, located in Hall 8.1 at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue. At this stand,  around 40 university start-ups and spin-offs will showcase their technological capabilities in two shifts.

Five of these companies use AI or deep technologies and have been driven by participants of the Next Frontier Founders (NFF), a program promoted by UPC with the support of Fractus and the Fractus-UPC Deep Tech Hub to facilitate accelerated development and access to funding for technology-based ventures led by UPC entrepreneurs.

Specifically, on March 2 and 3, the following will be presented:

  • Folgrid Technologies SL, creator of an optical system that diffuses sunlight to reduce thermal stress, water consumption, and climate impact in crops used for photovoltaic energy production.
  • Strathens Technologies SL, with an artificial intelligence (AI) platform that provides real-time insights into company operations and offers action recommendations and solutions to streamline decision-making.

On March 4 and 5, the following companies will present their solutions:

  • Datlantis ReGen, which unlocks AI scalability by deploying underwater data centers in offshore wind and wave energy farms, aiming to mitigate energy, water, and land constraints in this field.
  • Naso Shield (AYRO Solutions), developer of a reusable intranasal device for industrial environments, compatible with existing PPE, enhancing worker safety without compromising comfort or productivity.
  • byNeural, with an online platform enabling small and medium-sized enterprises to create AI assistants that automate tasks such as customer service via web and WhatsApp or calendar management.

UPC Pitching Session: The Final NFF Closing Event
On Wednesday, March 4, at 3:45 p.m., in Hall 8.1, UPC will host its pitching session, sponsored this year by Fractus within the framework of the Fractus-UPC Deep Tech Hub. This session will serve as the final event of the NFF program. In addition to the founders of the five companies mentioned above, the session will feature the founders of five additional companies:

  • Artivit AI SL (Numerand), creator of AI agents that automate repetitive tasks in the financial sector and provide recommendations to optimize finances for small and medium-sized enterprises.
  • Helix AI, developer of the first commercial Graph Foundation Model (GFM) applied to cancer, capable of learning complex biological processes at massive scale from multi-omics data.
  • Moai Tech (Nobrac), which uses ultra-high-resolution satellite imagery and advanced AI to accurately assess carbon capture in forests, providing data and certifications to validate and enhance credibility in carbon credit markets.
  • May One, which has patented the first automatic chain tensioner controlled via mobile phone, capable of precisely adjusting motorcycle chains and reducing accident risk.
  • MiWEndo Solutions, creator of the first accessory inserted at the distal end of conventional colonoscopes that, through the use of microwaves and AI, can detect polyps that are not visually detectable.

The session will also feature Muvity, a UPC spin-off offering a platform based on gamified exercises for remote rehabilitation of chronic injuries.
